Core Features
Power Conversion: Withstanding the highest explosion pressure of 18-22MPa within the cylinder, it converts linear reciprocating motion into crankshaft rotation power, providing continuous power for the grader's scraper lifting and driving functions.
Sealing and Leak Prevention: Working with compression rings and oil rings, it prevents combustion gases from entering the crankcase and reduces oil entry into the cylinder, ensuring a stable compression ratio (up to 16:1 or higher) and avoiding power loss and abnormal oil consumption.
Heat Dissipation Protection: It dissipates over 70% of the heat from the piston crown through the cylinder wall and coolant, controlling the piston operating temperature (≤220℃) and preventing high-temperature deformation and burning.
Guidance Stability: It provides precise guidance for the movement of the connecting rod and crankshaft, ensuring uniform contact between the piston rings and cylinder wall, reducing the risk of uneven wear and cylinder scoring.
Product superiority
Original Factory Precise Fit: Dimensions perfectly match the engine cylinders, piston pins, and connecting rods of the GD series motor graders, ensuring no knocking or blow-by after installation and guaranteeing smooth engine power output and operation.
High Wear Resistance and Deformation Resistance: Graphite coating/nitriding treatment on the skirt reduces the coefficient of friction to below 0.05, resisting piston ring wear and cylinder wall scoring; integral forging + T6 heat treatment ensures skirt deformation ≤0.02mm at high temperatures, suitable for heavy-duty conditions.
High-Efficiency Heat Dissipation and Sealing: Built-in cooling oil channels/cavities improve heat dissipation efficiency by 30%, preventing top overheating and erosion; hard anodized ring grooves enhance wear resistance and ensure long-term sealing performance.
Lightweight and Low-Loss: Lightweight design using aluminum-silicon alloy, piston weight error ≤5g, reducing reciprocating inertial forces, minimizing crankshaft and connecting rod fatigue damage, and improving fuel economy by approximately 5%. Reliable and stable process: Through the entire process of "forging - heat treatment - precision turning - honing - coating - flaw detection", there are no defects such as internal porosity and shrinkage, and the batch quality is consistent.
Application scenarios and installation tips
Applicable Working Conditions: GD series graders are suitable for routine and heavy-duty operations such as highway subgrade leveling, mine site grading, and farmland irrigation construction, especially in high-temperature, high-dust, and continuous operation scenarios.
Installation Instructions: Before installation, clean the piston and cylinder, and apply engine oil to the piston pin and connecting rod bushing; install according to the original factory markings (arrow pointing to the flywheel end); offset the piston ring openings by 120° to prevent fuel leakage; after installation, check the cylinder compression pressure (≥3.0MPa) to ensure there are no abnormalities.
Selection and Replacement Suggestions
Prioritize original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts or parts that meet Komatsu's technical standards to avoid serious engine malfunctions such as oil burning, cylinder knocking, and cylinder scoring caused by inferior parts due to insufficient material or precision. When the piston skirt wear is ≥0.1mm, cracks/burning appear on the piston crown, or the ring groove wear exceeds 0.02mm, it is recommended to replace the piston and its matching piston rings immediately.
